Family Tephritidae
There are over 5,000 different species of large fruit files and are considered the most biologically interesting and attractive family among true flies as most have intricate patterns and brightly colored wings. Their larvae are laid inside plant tissue, which they will feed on, and the adults typically do not live more than a week.
